Spain drafts rule tying new data centres to renewable power and EU-only control

Spain's government opened public consultation on a draft royal decree requiring new data centres above 1 megawatt to match at least 80% of hourly consumption with newly built renewable power and to keep operation, data and metadata under EU-regulated entities.
