Swedish firm TekSiC reports a milestone toward Europe's first domestic semi-insulating SiC wafer supply
TekSiC (Linkoping) says a partner grew GaN epitaxial layers on its semi-insulating SiC wafers, a material Europe cannot yet make domestically and one used in space, defence and RF electronics. Customer samples are due mid-2027.
What it does not test. Does not establish that TekSiC can produce semi-insulating SiC at commercial volume or yield; production start is not planned before the end of 2027.
