Anthropic applies EU-mandated Claude watermarking to all regions worldwide

Anthropic began embedding invisible machine-readable watermarks in text from new Claude models, citing the EU AI Act's Article 50 labelling duty and its July 2026 signing of the EU Code of Practice on AI transparency, and applied the marking worldwide rather than only within the EU.
