EU AI Act transparency duties and GPAI fining power take effect from 2 August

From 2 August 2026 the EU AI Act's Article 50 transparency duties, requiring labelling of AI generated content and disclosure of chatbots, became applicable, alongside the Commission's power to fine general purpose AI providers up to EUR 15 million or 3% of global turnover.
