Reported Editor-read [The Defense Post, 6 January 2026](https://thedefensepost.com/2026/01/06/spain-indra-battle-tanks/?ref=sovereigntymonitor.eu)

**What it does not test.** Does not commit Spain to building or buying any tank; PAMOV is an early research and design study, not a production order.

**How this item counts.** Towards autonomy: it changes who made the parts. Binding 2 of 3 (agreed or funded), scale 1 of 3 (small), Reported counts half: weight +1 of 36 possible. EUR45m contracted to Spanish Indra for tank propulsion/sensor R&D, builds parts base. [European Sovereignty Index](https://sovereigntymonitor.eu/sovereignty-index/)
